These both provide a number of fundamental rights which are central to all actions of law enforcement.
The following are fundamental to the operation of the above and the DPA:
- Everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence.
- The HRA only applies to Public Authorities.
- So, if we are working in their environments, we must be diligent of this.
- There are exemptions to the HRA but local clients procedures – if adhered to – will protect our clients.
