You will want your part-time team members to feel as welcomed and integrated into the team as your full-time members. In addition, under equality laws, you will need to give part-time team members the same opportunity to undergo a full onboarding programme as their full-time counterparts. Onboarding sessions should therefore be structured to take place at times convenient to part-time employees.
For example, if the employee has to drop off or collect children and you want to arrange an introductory social, perhaps talk to them about what would work best – a particular day or lunch instead for example – without making assumptions.
